The Minister of Economy and Trade in the Government of National Unity, Mohammed Al-Huweij, stressed the importance of implementing a package of economic reforms through a unified mechanism between financial and economic institutions, with the need to benefit from successful international experiences in this context, which would help enhance political stability in Libya.
This came during his meeting on Sunday with the Director of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Libya, Sophie Kimkhaddze, where they discussed aspects of cooperation in implementing the economic development and diversification plan in Libya, according to a statement by the Ministry of Economy on its Facebook page.
The two parties reviewed the mechanism of cooperation and technical support provided by the UNDP to Libyan government institutions, with the aim of enhancing the implementation of the development plan and improving the economic conditions in the country in accordance with the seventeen sustainable development goals of the United Nations for Vision 2030.
