The Ministry of Economy and Trade has revealed that $77 million worth of letters of credit were opened to import live livestock during the first four months of 2025.
In a statement following an economic review meeting, the ministry confirmed that import operations were proceeding normally and that current livestock quantities were sufficient to meet domestic demand and bolster national food security.
Officials also discussed the readiness of the local market ahead of Eid al-Adha, as well as broader commercial activity.
