Egypt and Turkey, once at odds in Libya's civil conflict, are now cooperating to resolve the ongoing crisis surrounding Libya's Central Bank, Bloomberg has reported.
The two regional powers are reportedly pressuring Libya's rival administrations to reach an agreement that could help lift the oil blockade, according to officials and diplomats following the matter.
Turkey, which previously supported the Tripoli-based government, has engaged in talks with its former adversary, Khalifa Haftar, to address the leadership of the Central Bank of Libya.
Diplomatic sources suggest that the combined influence of Cairo and Ankara has significantly reduced the likelihood of a broader conflict. This renewed cooperation has also paved the way for Egyptian companies and workers to return to western Libya and for Turkish companies to re-enter eastern Libya.
