Members of the Libyan House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) will hold a consultative meeting in Cairo from 22 to 25 February at the invitation of the Egyptian Parliament, according to Bawabet Al-Wasat News Agency.
The Speaker of the HoR previously received an invitation from his Egyptian counterpart, Hanafi Gebali, regarding this meeting, which came "based on Egypt's keenness to achieve political and security stability for Libya, considering that Libya's stability is an integral part of Egypt's stability."
The Speaker of the Egyptian House of Representatives attributed this invitation to "the developments witnessed in the Libyan and regional arena, in addition to strengthening the bonds of parliamentary cooperation between the two councils," expressing his confidence that "the visit of the HoR's delegation will give an additional boost to relations between the two countries and consolidate the partnership for the benefit and good of the Libyan and Egyptian peoples."
