Egypt released on Monday a number of Libyan nationals who arrived in Al-Kufra city after spending about six months in detention for infiltration into the Egyptian territory.

Egyptian authorities arrested the Libyans last October on its southern borders, accusing them of entering illegally, at a time when their families confirmed that they had lost their way during their return from Sudan.

The families appealed to the authorities in Libya, including the House of Representatives and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as well as to Khalifa Haftar, demanding intervention to release the youngsters, or deport them to Libyan prisons.
