The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced on Friday the return of 71 Egyptian citizens from Tripoli in light of the recent tensions in the capital.
The ministry explained in a statement that the Egyptian government sent an EgyptAir plane to Libya on Friday, repatriating the citizens who had previously registered their information with the Egyptian embassy in Tripoli and the operations room formed by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to monitor the current situation in Tripoli.
The statement indicated that the National Committee on Libya has worked in recent days to make all necessary arrangements for the return of the Egyptian citizens without incurring any financial burdens, as the Egyptian state bears the expenses.
