The High National Elections Commission (HNEC) has revealed a marked increase in women's registration for the elections, which will be held this year.

According to the figures of the HNEC, the women's turnout in the electoral system is remarkable, which may indicate a rising proportion of their participation in the upcoming elections.

A press statement by the head of the HNEC, Emad Sayah, said that the numbers may reflect a growth in the women's participation in the coming stages of the elections, which may create a good political ground for women and thus the possibility of new female politicians emerging on the political scene.
