The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) announced on Tuesday, the return of electricity to areas in Derna, after it had been cut off since last Sunday evening when Storm Daniel struck the city.
The company said in a statement that its technical teams were able to restore service to the western and eastern Shiha areas, while work is still underway to restore service in other areas.
Al-Madar Al-Jadeed technicians also succeeded in restoring the internet service that was cut off as a result of the storm, while efforts continue to restore wired and wireless communications coverage.
