The Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said Thursday that there's an opportunity for peace and stability in Libya, adding that such a chance shouldn't be wasted.

Erdogan's remarks came in a phone call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin, Turkish Presidency said in a statement, adding that the two Presidents had reviewed bilateral relations and regional issues, including Libya and Syria.

Erdogan reiterated earlier in phone calls with the Head of the Presidential Council, Mohammed Menfi, and Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah, that Turkey would remain in support of the political process in Libya to establish peace and security in the country. He also stressed Ankara's keenness on boosting cooperation with Libya in the upcoming period.
