Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has confirmed his country support to achieve the national reconciliation project and address the political stalemate in Libya.

This came during his meeting with the member of the Presidential Council, Abdullah Al-Lafi, on the sidelines of the African Union summit.

Al-Lafi praised Ahmed's efforts for achieving peace in Ethiopia, confirming the depth of Libyan-Ethiopian relations, according to the Presidential Council media office.

He also stressed Libya's keenness to enhance cooperation and partnership with Ethiopia in many fields, agreeing to activate the Libyan-Ethiopian joint committee, and to discuss ways to reopen the Ethiopian embassy in Tripoli.
