The European Union Mission in Libya, along with diplomatic missions of EU member states, has condemned the assassination attempt on Minister Adel Jumaa in Tripoli.
In a joint statement, the missions urged Libyan authorities to conduct a swift, transparent, and comprehensive investigation to identify and prosecute those responsible. They reaffirmed their strong opposition to politically motivated violence.
The EU also called on Libyan stakeholders to prioritize dialogue, avoid escalation, and resolve political disputes through peaceful means.
Jumaa was wounded after gunmen opened fire on his vehicle in Tripoli, and was taken to surgery for treatment.
