The European Union (EU) Mission in Libya has announced the launch of a program to renovate the Ghadames border crossing in collaboration with the ministries of Foreign Affairs and Interior of the Government of National Unity.
A statement by the EU mission on Tuesday said the initiative is part of a broader effort to support rights-based border management aimed at combating cross-border crime and irregular migration.
The mission emphasized that this cooperation is central to the EU-Libya partnership.
The International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Libya will implement the initiative under the EU's flagship program, "Support for Integrated Border and Migration Management in Libya" (SIBMMIL).
