The head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in Libya, Natalina Cea, announced Thursday the mission's intention to hold a regional conference on cross-border cooperation between Libya and the African Sahel countries.

The EU official tweeted that the two-day conference, which the EU plans to run on November 22-23 in Tunisia, aims to support regional security and stability by strengthening cross-border cooperation in combating border crimes, including terrorism and organized crime.

According to Cea, the event will feature the participation of political and technical delegations from Libya, the African Sahel countries, the European Union, and member states, in addition to international organizations.
