The European Union office in Libya has stressed the need to support and develop the education sector in Libya.

In the occasion of the International Day of Education, the office said that Libya has the lowest illiteracy rate compared to some neighboring countries, urging the need to maintain this level by supporting and developing the education sector.

The office reviewed some of its efforts to support the education sector in the Middle East and North Africa region, including Libya, such as its launch of the European Union Graduates initiative, which allows beneficiaries of union projects to communicate with each other.
