The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has documented extrajudicial executions, torture, and mutilation cases committed by Haftar's militias during the fighting in the suburbs of Tripoli.
The human rights group demanded in a report the International Criminal Court (ICC) to swiftly investigate the crimes committed against the soldiers imprisoned by Haftar's forces and bring perpetrators to justice, saying that such crimes constitute a threat to international peace and security.
It also urged all parties to the conflict to immediately cease military operations and engage in a comprehensive national dialogue, in order to find a peaceful solution to the ongoing armed conflict in the country since 2011.
