The spokesperson of the European Commission, Peter Stano, said Libya is going through a critical stage and urged all parties to be united as the day of elections is getting closer, reiterating that the European Commission was aware of the Foreign Minister Najla Al-Mangoush's suspension by the Presidential Council, without further comments, according to Italian Nova news agency.

Stano said Libya is preparing for elections and all parties should work in line toward that aim because the success of elections is vital for the process of reaching a peaceful solution in Libya.

The Presidential Council orderd Al-Mangoush's suspension on Saturday pending investigation for mismanagement of foreign policy, but the Prime Minister, Abdul-Hamid Dbeibah issued an order to keep Al-Mangoush in her position on duty as the Presidential Council isn't authorized to appoint or sack any cabinet member as per the Libyan Political Dialogue Forum.
