The families of the Libyan detainees in Saudi Arabia called for the immediate and unconditional release of their sons who were arrested at Jeddah Airport in Saudi Arabia after performing Umrah in July 2017.

The families revealed at a protest on Monday in front of the Saudi consulate in Istanbul their intention to bring the case before the United Nations and the Security Council, appealing to human rights organizations around the world to support them in their cause.

The protesters also held the Saudi authorities the full responsibility for the safety of their sons, stressing that their detention is contrary to the international codes.

They also expressed their concern for their sons' safety, especially after the Khashoggi incident who was brutally murdered in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul.
