A baby girl was mistakenly shot dead by her father in Tripoli on Thursday, the Ministry of Interior reported on Friday.
The ministry said the one-and-a-half-month-old baby arrived at the Al-Hadba Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries.
Staffers at the hospital notified the police, and officers were dispatched to the place, the ministry said.
As part of legal procedures, the father was referred to the Criminal Investigation Office in Tripoli in preparation for his appearance before the Public Prosecution, according to the same source.
