The Administrative Control Authority (ACA) has disclosed financial and administrative irregularities as well as criminal offenses related to the waste of public funds within the open letters of credit of the Canadian Bureau for International Education (CBIE).

The ACA issued a decision to stop the letters of credit for the CBIE until previously transferred amounts are settled. It added that the total amounts transferred by the Ministry of Education exceeded 900 million dinars as fees of Libyan students studying in Canada since the year 2010.

The Ministry of Education also credited another 152 million dinars to the CBIE, according to a statement issued by the ACA, which indicated that these procedures contain large financial irregularities and fraud related to the public money.
