Local media outlets reported that a fire broke out in Ghani oilfield after thieves had sawed a pipeline using a chainsaw.

A worker at the field said the fire broke out Thursday and firemen from nearby oilfields in western Sirte helped put it out.

Many Libyan oilfields have been subjected to looting and vandalism over the last years due conflicts and clashes between armed groups.
