Mass amounts of narcotics were seized recently, through the sea, air, and land ports of the country, Libya's Customs Service confirmed Thursday.

In a statement on its Facebook Page, the department clarified that the seized substances included more than 52,000 kilograms of cannabis as well as 100 million tablets of narcotic drugs.

It also noted that two containers of firearms and hunting rifles were found and seized in the Port of Khoms city east of Tripoli.

"These Unprecedented volumes of contraband aims to destabilize the country's economy for the purpose of money laundering and supporting terrorism," the Customs Service explained.
