An official source from Khalij steam power plant in Sirte, confirmed the closure of the first turbine of the plant, due to periodic maintenance.

The source explained in a press statement that the turbine is undergoing a routine maintenance, including the cleaning of filters and a regular general check-up.

The first turbine of the Khalij steam power plant operates with a production capacity of two hundred and fifty megawatts, and was linked to the public electrical grid about two weeks ago to decrease the hours of load shedding.
