The Libyan capital Tripoli and western region’s districts are seeing bad weather conditions including sand and dust due to a desert storm headed toward west Libya.

The bad weather has caused suspension of flights as one plane from the Libyan Airlines company had to land in Djirba airport in Tunisia after it couldn't land in Mitiga airport in Tripoli coming from Ghat city.

According to the National Center for Meteorology, the coming couple of days will witness dusty and windy weather, especially in coastal areas.

In the meantime, Tripoli traffic department asked people to avoid fast driving in the dusty weather, urging them to pull over if they couldn't see clearly on the road.
