The Crisis Committee formed by the Presidential Council confirmed Saturday the start of the distribution of flour starting Sunday at a rate of 400 tons per day.
A convoy of four ships loaded with bread-making wheat has arrived at the port of Tripoli, the Minister of Local Government and member of the crisis committee Baddad Gansu confirmed, stressing that the committee will make sure that the shipment will be distributed equally to all Libyan cities without exception, according to the Information Office of the Presidential Council.
Prices of flour soared in the parallel market to about 400 dinars for a quintal, which, in turn, led to a rise in the price of the loaf of bread to one whole dinar in some bakeries.
