Foreign Minister, Najla Al-Manqoush, received at her office on Wednesday, Minister of Labour and Rehabilitation, Ali Al-Ridha, to discuss aspects of cooperation between the two sides with regard to setting mechanisms and conditions for recruiting workers from abroad.

As stated by the Foreign Ministry on Facebook, the meeting also addressed the issue of illegal immigration and its impact on national security and population demography.

The ministers reiterated Libya's position that the country is "a transit point and not a source" for illegal immigrants, underscoring that it remains a global phenomenon and Libya is the one suffering more.

Al-Manqoush explained that the solution to this problem lies in intensifying efforts of all countries and international organizations to bring about sustainable development for sub-Saharan countries and establish economic projects that provide decent livelihoods in the source countries.
