The Public Prosecution has ordered the arrest of two former directors of the Follow-up Department at the Customs Authority on charges of embezzlement.

The Deputy Prosecutor launched an investigation into the embezzlement allegations against the two officials authorized to receive the trusts and seized materials at the Customs Authority, the Public Prosecution said in a Facebook statement on Friday.

According to the Prosecutor's office, the defendants embezzled hundreds of thousands of foreign exchange after receiving the sums from the relevant authority, indicating that they are now under custody pending developments in the case.
