France is preparing to hand over six boats to Libya as part of its support for combating illegal migration flows.

Reliable sources confirmed that France will send six 12-meter boats to Sri Lanka and then to Libya, where it is expected to arrive during the next spring, according to France's Le Monde newspaper.

The move comes as part of France's efforts to combat illegal immigration across Libya, while Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières MSF accuses France of violating international law because of its refusal to accept illegal immigrants on its territory.
