The French Ambassador to Libya, Mustafa Maharaj, has commended the Libyan people’s political maturity and their readiness for parliamentary and presidential elections. His remarks followed the recent municipal elections, which saw a 74% voter turnout, according to preliminary figures.
In a statement on "X", the French Embassy highlighted Ambassador Maharaj’s visit to the High National Elections Commission’s Counting and Statistics Centre, alongside a delegation of ambassadors. He praised the commission’s "professionalism, neutrality, and transparency" in managing the elections across 58 municipalities in Libya.
The ambassador also acknowledged the efforts of all parties involved in ensuring the success and security of the electoral process.
