French government spokesperson, Benjamin Griveaux, said that military intervention by his country in Libya is unlikely; pointing out that this mission must be carried out by an African force.

"There will be no military intervention by France," Griveaux said in remarks to French media on Sunday, adding that there is a need for an African military force to intervene in Libya to bring trapped migrants home, backed by France and the EU with intelligence and technical support.

"Libya is in a state of chaos, we got involved in the war, but we didn't prepare for the peace process, today people are dying, France should have taken this initiative in the European context," he said.
