The 444th Brigade of the Tripoli Military Region announced, on Friday, that a convoy of trucks carrying fuel that were being smuggled out of the country near the Libyan border, was targeted with guided missiles, following a direct clash with "smuggling gangs" by a special detachment of the Libyan army.

The 444th Brigade did not identify the location of the operation, however, it reported on its Facebook account that these intensive operations come to deter criminal gangs that trade in the Libyan people's means of subsistence and do not pay attention to the extent of the suffering they caused to many regions of the south for a long time due to the lack of fuel, as it put it.

The 444th Brigade also noted that the operations it is carrying out are aimed at breaking smuggling lines, demolishing crime sites, and bombarding strongholds of criminals and outlaws.
