A former Gaddafi regime opponent has been killed in Benghazi, sources say.

The sources said Fathi Zidan was on his way to a mosque in Silis district to perform night prayer when a randomly-fired bullet fell on him.

“The falling bullet was a result of a gunfight between two families in the surrounding area”, the sources added.

Fathi Zidan was a prominent opposition figure in the Libyan National Salvation Front since the 70s. He used to call for regime change and peaceful handover of power.
