The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) has confirmed the loss of 300 megawatts of output and an increase in load shedding hours, due to a decrease in the gas pressure feeding the North Benghazi and Zueitina power plants.

The GECOL pointed out that the total available capacities lost as a result of the low gas pressure amounted to 750 megawatts.

The company called on citizens to contribute to decrease consumption, in light of the high temperatures and the excessive increase in demand for electrical energy.
