Three turbines at Khums power plant have stopped working, the General Electricity Company (GECOL) reported on Monday.

The company said that the halt process will cause the loss of 500 megawatts of the total output, affecting the performance of the electrical grid and increasing the hours of power outage.

The company attributed the standstill of the turbines to the inability of two tankers loaded with light and heavy fuel to come ashore Khums port, due to bad weather conditions.
