The General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL) said on Monday that unidentified persons stole 600 meters of electricity wires in the Majer area in Zliten city.
The company added in a statement that the theft had led to the disconnection of power supply to 30 transformers, and power outages to a number of houses and farms.
It also complained about the frequent theft targeting the electricity components, which led to frequent power outages in several areas, demanding the security services to take appropriate measures to prevent theft of wires.
