The Presidential Council issued a resolution that allows the General Electricity Company of Libya GECOL to conclude a contract with the US General Electric Company (GE Power) worth more than 30 million Libyan dinars to supervise the installation and dismantling process, in addition to the technical services needed in the gas-fired power stations.

The resolution provided that the GE Power will oversee the implementation of the work and the supply of equipment for the gas-fired power stations in the public electrical grid.

The GECOL has the right to repay 25% of the total contract as a down payment to the company, according to the resolution adopted.
