GECOL: Improvement in load shedding begins from next November
The General Director of the General Electricity Company of Libya (GECOL), Wiam Al-Abdali, confirmed that a significant improvement in the number of load hours will begin from next November when power production is expected to rise to 7,200 megawatts.
Al-Abdali added in press statements that loads are expected to be permanently sorted in 2022 in the event that no further emergency or unrest occurs, considering that maintenance work and the performance of the electrical grid are progressing at a considerable pace.
He confirmed earlier that the power network will have approximately 1,700 megawatts at the end of the year, adding that in August, 700 megawatts are expected to join the network and a further 1,300 in upcoming September.
