The German ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, has stressed the importance of the success of the current facilitated mediation by the United Nations, and the renunciation of any violence or use of force.

This came during his meeting with the Prime Minister of the parallel government, Fathi Bashagha, to discuss the latest political developments in Libya, during which he affirmed his country's continued support for dialogue for a peaceful solution.

In the same context, the Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa, at the German Foreign Ministry, Christian Buck, expressed his country's full support for the efforts of the UN advisor on Libya, Stephanie Williams, to resume the political process, stressing that free, fair and credible elections are the only solution to the recurring political crises in Libya.
