German Ambassador to Libya, Michael Ohnmacht, has reaffirmed his country's commitment to continue supporting the High National Elections Commission (HNEC) through the United Nations Development Program in order to maintain the commission's readiness to organize elections as soon as possible.

‘Libya has been waiting for elections for nearly a year, as more than 2.8 million registered voters send a clear message: Let's vote.’ the German ambassador explained, in a tweet.

On Thursday, the United Nations Development Program signed an agreement with the governments of Germany and France to support the (People) project, which aims to provide technical and advisory support for the electoral process, which is supervised by the United Nations Mission (UNSMIL).
