The United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL) has stated that representatives of the Ministries of Labour and Defense of the Government of National Unity (GNU) highlighted the government’s efforts in supporting disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration (DDR) in Libya.
This came during their meeting with Libyan institutions and civil society organizations from across the country and their international counterparts.
While a statement issued by the UNSMIL did not clarify the integration efforts presented by government representatives, they stressed the importance of supporting youth and women with job opportunities through skills training, job creation, and rehabilitation services that support the return to civilian life, while the UNSMIL reaffirmed its commitment to its role in supporting the peace process in Libya.
