The Government of National Unity confirmed that stern measures will be taken against companies that do not commit to compensating workers upon end of the contractual relationship.

The government's confirmation came after the Ministry of Labor and Rehabilitation noticed that a number of foreign and national companies operating in Libya do not commit to paying the financial dues of Libyan workers upon the end of the contractual relationship, which includes paying two months' salary for each year of work, according to a statement published on the government and ministry's page.

The Ministry of Labor notified the relevant authorities by circulating to all employers registered with it "not to terminate any national contract until all its financial dues are paid and to grant the worker an end-of-service allowance for the amount of two months' salary for each year of work as compensation for terminating the contract."
