The spokesman for the Libyan Army, Mohammed Gununu, said criminals should go to prison not assume positions of power, adding that they should be held accountable and brought to justice not to tables of dialogue, noting that such criminals understand “machine-guns” only.

Gununu added on Twitter, commemorating the 11th anniversary of February 17 revolution, that the Libyan Army will continue to defend the country and build the military institution away from dictatorship and the glorification of persons or the rule of the family and tribe.

He hailed the celebration of the revolution by Libyans with photos of the martyrs and the Libyan flag held high, reiterating the need to continue to build a modern military institution via training programs within the agreements between legitimate governments and Libya’s allies to fight terrorism and protect borders.
