United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres has discussed with Algerian Foreign Minister Sabri Boukadoum the latest developments in the Libyan file, among other international issues.

According to the Algerian newspaper, Al-Nahar, the two sides welcomed the signing of the Geneva Agreement by the 5 + 5 Joint Military Committee, which provides for a permanent ceasefire in the country.

The Secretary-General of the United Nations expressed appreciation for Algeria's role in helping Libyans in their path towards a final settlement, hoping that it would continue its efforts in this direction.
