UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres has expressed his desire to appoint Hanna Serwaa Tetteh as his Special Representative to Libya and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya to succeed Abdoulaye Bathily.
Tetteh held several positions in the United Nations field, from 2022 to 2024 when she was assigned as the Special Envoy of the Secretary-General for the Horn of Africa, and the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to the African Union from 2018 to 2020.
Tetteh was also the Prime Minister of her country between 2014 and 2015, in addition to her assignment to the Ghanaian Ministry of Foreign Affairs between 2013 and 2017.
