Khalifa Haftar and his son Saddam arrived in the Russian capital, Moscow, on an official visit whose purpose was not publicly disclosed.

Haftar was received at Moscow Airport by Russian Deputy Defense Minister Yunus-bek Yevkurov.

Haftar’s media office did not provide further details about the visit’s agenda or the nature of the expected meetings.

Meanwhile, Russia Today, citing sources close to Haftar, reported that the visit was part of extensive consultations Haftar had been holding with several Russian officials. The discussions are expected to cover military cooperation, political and security developments in Libya, and topics related to reconstruction in cities across eastern Libya.
