Militias loyal to Khalifa Haftar in Benghazi prevented Al-Ahli Tripoli fans from attending the Libya Basketball Cup final between Al-Ahli Tripoli and Al-Nasr on Thursday.
Reports indicate that militias loyal to Haftar detained some of the fans, releasing many but still holding others. Al-Ahli Tripoli expressed regret over the treatment of its fans.
Additionally, the club criticized the referees' performance during the match, alleging that it favoured Al-Nasr.
This incident has led Al-Ahli to hold the "so-called security authorities" responsible for the safety of its team and members, disclaiming responsibility for any possible reactions from its fans due to the mistreatment of its team members.
