UK-based "The Halo Trust" organization said it had drawn maps for potential locations of mines and war remnants in areas of conflict in Tripoli.
In the last episode of the "Beyond Bombs" podcast series on its website, the organization revealed that after a year of work, its team was able to locate more than 100 sites containing war remnants in the Ain Zara area - suburbs of Tripoli.
It also confirmed that the maps, which it drew based on social media, are essential to help plan demining work in the field, noting that it needs support to strengthen this work in Libya.
The Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said that the total number of victims of mines and remnants of war in Libya last year reached 298 people: 278 men and 20 women, of whom 174 were injured and 124 were killed.
