The head of the High Council of State (HCS), Khaled Al -Mishri received at his office on Tuesday Italy's Ambassador to Libya, Giuseppe Buccino.
A statement by the HCS said the two sides discussed means to overcome the current political stalemate in Libya, emphasizing the need for conducting elections on sound constitutional and legal principles.
Al -Mishri expressed his gratitude to the Italian ambassador for his efforts in supporting and strengthening bilateral relations and the Libyan political process.
The meeting comes as Buccion ends his mission as ambassador to his country in Libya, according to the HCS.
