50 members of the High Council of State (HCS) have demanded the presidency of the Council to reach consensus with the House of Representatives (HoR) on election laws, setting a timeframe for the elections, and agreeing on sovereign positions, a new presidential council and an interim technocratic government that adheres to the timetable for holding elections.

This statement comes in response to the new direction of the HCS, after meeting held in Morocco between HCS head Khaled Al-Mishri and HoR Speaker Aqila Saleh, which witnessed an agreement to change the holders of sovereign positions, and to form a new Presidential Council and a new government to lead the country to elections.
