The President of the High Council of State (HCS), Abdulrahman Al-Suwaheli, denounced the closure of the Al-Feel (elephant) oil field and the pressure exerted on the National Oil Corporation by armed groups to obtain personal benefits.

Al-Suwaheli also warned in a tweet that everyone will pay the cost from the only source of livelihood if they choose to stay silent and allow the 2013 scenario of Ibrahim Jordan to happen again.

He stressed the need to tackle this issue and put an end to such “futility” at once, insisting that his words are addressed to the Libyans and not to those helpless who claim to represent power and authority, as he put it.
