The Tunisian authorities on Tuesday released the Head of the Cyrenaica Commission, Abdel Hamid Al-Kazah, along with several others of Haftar opponents from the eastern region, who presently reside in Tunisia.

Those held were released merely hours after their arrest by security forces, who raided Al-Kazah’s residence on Monday evening, arresting him and his companion Fawzi Al-Rafadi, along with several other people.

Directly after his release, Al-Kazah said, through his Facebook account, that the ‘Tunisian Counter-Terrorism Service’ arrested them as a result of a malevolent report, adding that it was a waste of resources, as they were released after a short time.

He also praised the Tunisian security forces, commending their good treatment.
